I making this post to inform people that you should avoid the paid version of the JCreator Pro IDE.

    Introduction
While I understand most people here use other IDE's such as Eclipse, Eclipse is limited in terms of testing on older systems. For example, the earliest available version of Eclipse for download, (as far as I can tell anyway) is Eurpoa. This version requires you to use J2SE 5.0 or above. For those interested in keeping the same version of Java on older systems, for research, testing purposes, or simply something like not enough disk space, etc... there are several reasons why... Eclipse becomes out of the question. Thus, leading to a path of decision, essentially, which IDE do I use for testing on older systems? And that's where this one comes into play.

My Experience, and Why You Shouldn't Use It
-So I became interested in this IDE at some point. I can't remember when exactly, or what the reason was. I think it was something to do with an online book, and it using this IDE. I believe at some point I found out that it literally works for any version of Java. I didn't know about other IDEs that would work with Java versions this far back at the time either. Not something that you get with Eclipse. So as you can tell, this is a very compatible IDE. I liked what they had to offer. I believed that they should be rewarded for their work, and ended up paying for the Pro version. My experience started off poor, but got better. Their site is annoying, broken, and hard to use. I was not able to talk with anyone directly about placing an order, or questions about the software. Though with that being said, I was still able to place an order online using their form. So it looks like things worked out. I was able to give them a chance. Shortly after, I got an email within a day or so providing a statement saying that they received the payment, and gave me a software key, kind of like what you would get with Windows, and a link to download the Pro version of the installer for the software. I ran the installer as you would with anything else, and it worked. It prompted me for a key, and I entered the one they sent me. That worked too. I think I had to enter the key twice and restart the IDE for the changes to take effect. It ended up working. I got what I paid for, and at the time I was feeling okay.

-Here's where things started to break.
    The First Incident
After either reinstalling Windows or booting up my computer one day, I tried to use the software. I got a message essentially saying, in short, that the key didn't work, or something like that. I can't remember what the exact error message was. It might have been something to do with a connectivity issue to their databases. I don't know. Regardless, it did not work. I tried restarting my computer, reinstalling the software, but I kept getting the same issue. At the time, I kind of forgotten about it, and had other things to focus on. Though, it was burning in the back of my mind why this software that I paid I think ~$80 for just one day didn't work. I believe I did what what I could do on my end at the time. I believe I even used their support forum to try and send them an email about it. I never received a response back (multiple times).

    The Second Incident
Time had passed, and I wanted to do more testing. Like I said earlier, this was the only IDE that I knew of that would work with Java versions this early at the time. So I was quite limited on options. I figured, I could try and shrug it off a bit. Maybe it was a defective key, there was an issue with their online ordering system, etc... several ideas... pick one. Anyways, I ended up buying another key. As usual, I got an email saying that they received the payment, got a link to the installer for the software, and a software key. This time, I had noticed that the link to download the Pro version of the software did not work. I did manage to find the original installer for the Pro version, so no worries there. So I installed the software and as usual, it prompted me for a key. This time, when I entered the key, I got a message saying: "Invalid key combination, please contact support. " Well, you can guess what my next fucking move was. Getting shot around like a fucking pinball ball, I fill out the support form that is automatically brought up when the key that is entered doesn't work. You can probably guess what the next fucking step here is too. The code on their broken ass website doesn't fucking work, and as a result, rather than getting a confirmation message stating that it sent, which is what I got the first time when I tried contacting their support, you're sent to a page of code. Trying to email them directly doesn't work either. You can get the mail delivery message saying that it doesn't go through. This is true to this day, you can try this if you want to waste time on it.

So when their email system was working, they did not responded to any of my emails.
Both keys they gave me no longer work. The second one didn't even work from the beginning.
I have saved both emails in PDF form for reference purposes.

    Conclusion
You should be fine using the Trial version, just keep in mind you might have to delete its registry keys in the Registry Editor and reinstall it in order to keep using it.

    Proof:
I'm censoring for privacy and security concerns.
This unfortunately includes the software key, the order number, email address, etc...
If you really don't believe me, you can do it yourself. I don't give a fuck. Enjoy wasting ~$80 on broken software then feeling like a fucking retard when it doesn't work.

Yeah, no. Fuck this shit. It's an overweight, over complex, bulky pile of garbage.

I don't understand what you're trying to do. You want to test your code on older systems e.g. Windows 98 or older version of Java?

IntelliJ and Jetbrains products are industry leaders. Get a new computer instead of r-s ranks lol.

My computers are more than fine. I don't need overweight fat ass IDEs unnecessarily taking up around an entire gigabyte of memory with quite literally no code running in them at idle.

I'm not sure what you mean by, "r-s" ranks.
