I've used the free plan for my website which ran on node. Very cool bit of kit.

I've only used the free plan for all my projects since they're not for the masses and are only for testing purpose atm. (this together with mlabs for mongo)

I used it when it was free and the prices were cheaper. Nowadays it's way too expensive for the power you get especially when comparing it to other providers like AWS and Vultr... Heroku is really only good when you make a lot of money and want to scale super fast to meet the demand.
