Just wondering what you personally think is the best IDE. I personally like Eclipse but have recently begun using Netbeans. I realize there are other less popular IDE's out there so if you use one of those, please feel free to vote other (just make sure you specify which you use and why you use it).

I personally like Eclipse atm mainly because it's easy to use, and because it supports many different languages.

I prefer Eclipse, it's an easy layout and overall people should stop using basic notepad and go to Eclipse.
It'd stop the compiling & run cmd complaints in help section instantly.
    All the best,

Eclipse is overly complicated where it doesn't need to be. Netbeans is more elegant.

This is a comparison mainly between eclipse and netbeans, not notepad...

Btw, Eclipse will probably win because this community loves it rofl.

I always use Eclipse. There is no particular reason why, but I did not like Netbeans when I gave it a chance.

Netbeans, I found it faster (since version 7), and more stable. Also as Maggot said,Eclipse is too over-complicated. Eclipse has a lot of good plugins what missing from NB, but it's catching up fast. Also I'm working with JavaFX in the last 2 months, and NB 7.3 have a very nice support for it. (Eclipse had it too, with community plugin, but I prefer the non-plugin way.)
