Thread: Dutch developer(s) wanted

I'm planning to devote my complete summer to write a piece of software. I estimated the amount of work including security tests around at least 800 to 1000 hours, an amount of work I simply can't pull off alone. The software will represent automation of a process that I currently prefer not to reveal and will be the backbone of a company I want to start up once the software is finished. The costs of letting a professional company develop this software would be between at least 100.000 and 200.000 euro's. My partner, who will be taking care of the commercial side of this company, and I don't want to spend this money and therefore we want to take its development in our own hands. In a later stage, after writing the initially needed piece of software and everything is ready to launch, there will probably be another 2000 to 3000 hours of development needed.

Because 800 to 1000 hours of work is too much for me to pull off in two months time, I'm looking for developers who are able to devote their entire summer on the creation of this software. I understand that the sum of hours spent on development with more developers will be higher than 800 to 1000 hours, but the workload on each developer will be lower. I'm therefore looking for 1 or 2 developers to join me in this project.

I do have enough people around me on my studies who have the intelligence and the knowledge which is needed to pull this off, however it's hard to find people who are willing to spend their entire summer programming 40 hours a week. Therefore I thought I'd spread my chances and perhaps I can find somebody here who:

- Lives near Utrecht, The Netherlands
- Speak fluent English or Dutch
- Has at least 3-4 years+ experience in programming and is 18 years or older
- Was or currently is enrolled in a computer science related study
- Preferably has worked in projects with several people before
- Has experience with at least 2 of the following languages: C, C++, and Java
- Preferably has experience with at least 2 of the following languages: PHP, Perl, Ruby (on Rails framework)
- Has a good understanding of several internet and mobile telephone protocols or has a good abstract understanding of protocols in general and is able to get familiar with a couple of important ones in a short time
- Willing to spend 40 hours a week of development for a period of 2-3 months
- Willing to sign a legal contract that specifies our relation in terms of commitment, requirements and duties, not only on a personal level but also on the level as partners of the company. Further specifications will obviously be dealt with once we get around having a good conversation
- You understand that you will be part of an entrepreneurship and understand the risks of it

Further background information will be shared if we get in touch, although the highest priority is that before you get to know what will be developed you are sure you will and can spend the time mentioned before.
