After the unfortunate news of RuneLite, and it's notice of having to be shutdown by the end of the week I thought about creating a RuneScape client that will soon be open-sourced without the use of Jagex' code. Yes, all users can develop too - won't just be me. I will be keeping track of this thread with updates, media and open-source links once I got the basics completed. I understand Jagex' issue was that their code was open to the public's eye, which caused copyright infringement; so I thought about writing my own code that will just use Oldschool runescape parameters, and user-made plugins that any developer can write to use with the project.
The project won't require a lot of memory and I will be focusing on the game performance rather than plugins since that is what most players enjoyed about RuneLite. I am not creating this to be competition towards other third-party clients, but I liked the idea of RuneLite having all the plugins OSBuddy used; except absolutely free.
This is my first time creating a client that runs from RuneScape. So please bare with me, thank the thread and show your support. Give your thoughts/ideas and maybe suggestions.

Not shutting down, Adam spoke to MMK today. There will be minor changes to the API and accessibility; but development will continue in 2 days. Building something from scratch at this point without the big developers on board is useless imo, if anything people will just switch over to Konduit/OSB and call it a day.
Good luck with your project.
