I wouldn't even advise flipping or attempting to merchant right now until the market is a little more stable. So many items that shouldn't have dropped did because of how easy it is to get something now.

GE Item Flipping
This requires no skills just a bit of money to start. Seems to be a popular form of money making atm in Runescape.
Basically what you want to do is search for an item, commonly a raw material that is often used or runes work good as well,
purchase 1, check how much its being sold for at lowest by viewing your history.
subtract the general price from the lowest price to check the margin. (margin = 100 - 96 .... margin = 4)
you can then buy a ton of the item for 96 for example then sell for 98, making 2gp each. if you're buying 10k of the item thats 20k profit by doing nothing. the more money you invest the more you make.
so as you can see in the photos belowing im buying coal for 132 and selling for 134, sometimes 135 ea. it all happens within seconds and i make 10k profit in about 5 minutes. If this were steady id make 120k per hour.
search for an item to flip
check the lowest price and determine the price margin
buy the item in bulk at lowest cost, sell for a bit more
make profit
If you know of any good items to flip or would like to add to this please feel free!
Here is a quality video on flipping :

Exactly why I wouldn't attempt to merchant right now. A friend of mine hoared 120k coal ores before GE and he's made a massive loss now since the release of it.
Not exactly. Few people will find the odd thing that's rising in price but eventually that becomes stable and there's no profit to be made sooner or later. Although if you're making a profit now that's better than nothing at all.
I'd presume as ever raw items would still be the best bet to flip right now. I've been doing yew's at 400 ea and selling for 405 but sometimes it can take a while and I wouldn't suggest they're a stable item right now but they haven't fallen below 405 for 2 days now given they fell so far from 480 since GE released
