    -------------Where to Train-------------

Until level 57 (when you can use a spirit Kyatt), the fastest methods of making pouches are either running up to Taverly and teleporting back to Falador, if you can enter the Piscatoris Fishing Colony, simply running back and forth to the obelisk west of its south entrance, or if you have 10 contruction you can move your house to Taverly and use house tele (preferably teletabs) then ring of dueling to bank at Castle Wars. Either way, using a spirit terrorbird or super energy potions is highly recommended.

Once you have 57 summoning, you can use a spirit kyatt. This is the fastest method of pouching. Simply use the kyatt to teleport, run straight north to the summoning obelisk (it’s under the trapdoor and there’s a summoning symbol on the minimap), and use a ring of dueling to bank at Castle Wars.

    -------------What to Make-------------

Disclaimer: I don’t propose to know exactly the best things to make…this is an account of what I made. I went for best xp for the money.

Overall, crimson charms are the best to train with as they are the best xp for a charm that is easy to come by. Do not focus on blue charms for training as it’s just not realistic.

    ---Charm Droppers---

The best overall way to get charms for summoning is through the slayer skill. Most of the good charm droppers are commonly assigned slayer tasks. In general, monsters found in the Chaos Tunnels drop more charms than their counterparts outside of the Chaos Tunnels (the only exception really are dust devils and waterfiends).

Gold: Rock Lobsters, All Giants, Ankous, Dagannoths (lighthouse), Hellhounds, Ice Warriors, Turoths

Green: Bloodvelds, Dragons (miths drop 4 at a time, black/steel drop 3 at a time, irons/wyverns 2 at a time), Basilisks

Crimson: Abyssal Demons, Black demons, Dust Devils, Greater demons , Nechryael, Rock Lobsters, Waterfiends, Cockroach Soldiers

Blue: Aberrant Spectres, Gargoyles, Dark Beasts, Tormented Wraith, Tormented Demons

Also, keep in mind that Bork drops a few of each color charm and you can kill him once every 24 hours and that now you can choose a charms reward from random events and Soul Wars.

    ---Pets---

Various summoning levels allow you to obtain many types of pet and determines how many pets you may have.

Pet shops are located in Yanille and Taverly. They sell puppie, have incubators for hatching eggs, and they sell some exotic pet food: flies, beetle bits, and nuts. The owners will also give good advice about how to feed your pets.

You can once again find the levels you need for various pets in the runescape manual.

    ---Eggs---

You can get the three god eggs randomly from bird nests, including nests obtained through Kingdom Management after you complete Throne of Miscellania. Raven eggs can only be obtained from nests received while woodcutting. You can get a penguin egg from the penguin keeper at the Ardougne Zoo. You can get a vulture egg by killing vultures in the desert. The chameleon egg is a respawn on Cairn Isle and the dragon egg is a rare drop from mother dragons once you have 99 summoning.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are also a number of pets that require the Hunter skill to catch. These have both a hunter and summoning requirement.

    Key: Pet--Hunter Level Needed---Quest?
    Gecko-------27----------No
    Platypus----48-------As a First Resort
    Squirrel-----29---------No
    Raccoon----27-----------No
    Monkey------27----------No

    ---Other Pets---

The giant crab can be obtained by getting a crunchy claw token as a drop from Mogres. You then have to give the token to Nung in the Mogre underwater kingdom. The Broav is obtained during the grandmaster quest-While Guthix Sleeps. The Ex-ex parrot can be obtained after finishing the Rocking Out quest from 50 Ships (M)ufasa. You’ll then have to get a magic cage from Bill Teach and put the parrot in it. The parrot will eat rock chips (from the large black rock west of the entrance to the cave horrors dungeon). Phoenix egglings are randomly obtained from fighting the phoenix after the completion of In Pyre Need.

You can obtain a rune guardian pet after completing the Rune Mechanics quest. This pet can then be infused at any of the rune altars to change its color and is "fed" by walking near any rune altar the colors are basically the same as the color of the rune made by the particular altar. The only exception is the Astral altar which turns the Guardian light purple.

Finally, you can get a milk tooth creature after completing Fairy Tale 3. You will have to obtain monkey dentures, a suqah tooth, kebbit tooth, old tooth, and human tooth for the Tooth Fairy.

    ---Construction and Summoning---

    -The Menagerie-

In your player owned house you can now build a menagerie! Depending on your construction level, your menagerie can have different "habitat themes" such as garden, jungle, and desert. Here you can build little houses for your pets (also with various themes), a feeder (that will keep your pets fed and happy, preventing them from wandering off), and a small summoning obelisk!

All pets stored in the menagerie do not count towards your pet total (but only fully grown pets may be kept here), meaning you can now have more than one type of each pet. Now you can have all 3 god birds and all 4 baby dragons! However, in order to have more than one type of pet, you have to keep the others in the menagerie. So, for example, to get a second baby dragon your first baby dragon must be in your menagerie before you can hatch the egg.

Note: You can have more than one type of egg in your bank, but if you hatch it while your current pet is *not* in your menagerie/house, your current version of that pet will run off. You must store your current pet(s) in your menagerie first, then hatch the egg.

Like always, what you can build in your menagerie, what levels you need, and what supplies can be found in the game guide on the main page.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---Familiarisation---

This new Distraction and Diversion is a nice way to get extra charms or summoning supplies once a week.

    -How To Start-

Speak to Pikkupstix in Taverly to get a clue as to where his new apprentice Pikkenmix is located. This location will change every 20 minutes or so and will occasionally reset, requiring you to wait about 2 hours for a new location, much like evil trees.

You'll find Pikkenmix at a sparkling summoning obelisk. Talk to him to be teleported into the familiars' plane.

    -What to Do-

Once Pikkenmix teleports you, you'll become a familiar yourself. The goal is to collect as many raw shards as you can-a maximum of 60-to take back to Pikkenmix.

    Sounds easy, right?

Well, as soon as you enter the familiars' plane you'll find there are two types of familiars opposite to yours that will recognize that you aren't exactly a familiar. The longer you stay there, the more familiars that will recognize you as not belonging on their plane. If you pass too close to these familiars, they will drain some of your mental focus (shown by a bar on your screen). When all your focus is gone, or after 20 minutes, you will return to Runescape.

    ---Rewards---

    1. Charms: If you pick this reward you will receive tripled charm drops from everything you kill for 40 minutes of in game time. Meaning if you log out, your time stops until you log back in. Note: The triple charms reward does *not* work on Bork.

    OR

    2. Ingredients: You will receive a box of summoning ingredients with which to infuse pouches. What items you get and the number of items depend on your summoning level and how many piles of shards you managed to collect.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---Charm Sprite Hunting---

    Requirements: 72 Hunter

Where: Speak to Yaktwee Swinmari Cianta (he's a gnome) south west of the Tree Gnome Stronghold's entrance. Yaktwee Swinmari Cianta will sell you everything you need to hunt charm sprites for 4,000 gp (the sprite lure and the Yaktwee stick) and it is recommended to have at least 6 free inventory spaces.

What: The aim of the game is to make the sprites visible and them catch them.

You have to keep a weather eye open for any rustling shrubbery, throw your lure at said shrubbery, and then zap the lure with your Yaktwee stick. Doing so will make any invisible sprites nearby visible.

Rewards: If you capture a charm sprite with your Yaktwee stick, you will get a summoning charm slice. 10 slices make up one charm, so once you have 10 charm slices, use them on each other to make one full charm.

Sound easy? It's not as easy as you might think. Charm sprites are small and fast, so even if you render them visible, it's still a challenge to hit them with the Yaktwee stick.

Types of sprites: All sprites have the same hunter requirement, but some are rarer than others and will give 130, 200, or 400 hunter xp depending on the rarity of the sprite.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---Tips & Hints---

Spirit weed can be planted in a herb patch at level 36 farming. Level 40 herblorists can combine the spirit weed with any cockatrice egg (including variants) to make a summoning potion. This potion restores 7-31 summoning points, similar to prayer potions.

The Spirit Cobra’s (O)phidian Incubation scroll is used to convert ordinary eggs into -atrice eggs (blue, green, red, penguin, raven, chicken, and vulture) which are tradeable and used to make the variant pouches. All use the same level 43 scroll-Petrifying Gaze.

    -Prohibited Areas-

Some mini games, quests, and transportation networks. If you try to enter a forbidden area, you will be given a choice to dismiss your familiar before entering. Familiars are not allowed at the Grand Exchange, in the pools at Oo'glog, and will not follow you into the whirlpool entrance to the Ancient Cavern. Familiars are also not allowed on a few types of transportation: balloons, canoes, magic carpets, and mine carts/trains. You cannot summon a familiar around large summoning obelisks, but you can bring one with you.

    -Teleports-

The spirit kyatt takes you to Piscatoris, which has a summoning obelisk nearby for making pouches. Spirit graahks get you near the Nature runecrafting altar on Karamja. Void familiars take you to Pest Control. The spirit larupia takes you to Feldip Hills, arctic bear teleports to the snow hunting area, and the lava titan can teleport you to the Wilderness Lava Maze.

    -Getting Money Back-

Summoning is a skill that basically loses money. That being said there are some ways to get some of the money you spend back. You can swap shards at Bogrog in Guttanoth (you get 70% of shards used for the pouches you swap back, but you need to have a few summoning levels above that required to make the pouch to swap it), high alching pouches, and selling pouches in the GE (not all pouches sell, however).

-------------Hope this helps, feel free to thank/rep/etc.-------------
