Runescape - How to do Barrows properly

    Basic requirements:
    Attack: 70
    Strength: 70
    Defence: 70
    Magic: 70
    Ranged: 70
    Prayer: 52+

First of all, what items do we need?

    Weapons:
Dragon daggers (p++) and a Black Salamander (The black salamander is a very important weapon you MUST use if you're higher than 70 magic, because it'll inflict a very significant damage on the barrows brothers)
Harralander Tar (ammo for the Black Salamander)

    Armour:
Neitiznot Helm (could be another one but if you have this one, you should use it)
    Black Dragon D'hide top
Torags/Rune platelegs (if you're higher than 75 defence I had recommend you to use Black D'hide Chaps)
    Snakeskin boots/ Climbing boots
    Amulet of glory
Barrows gloves (or any RFD gloves you have)

    Inventory:
Teleport to house (or Magic runes for Kharryl teleport)
    2 Prayer Potion (4)
Dragon Dagger (p++) - If want you can bring a whip, but its not really necesarly and it takes inventory space.
    Spade (DO NOT FORGET THIS)
Monkfish - Don't use sharks, they're way too expensive and they only heal +4 more than monks and costs almost x3 times more.

    - Another requirements -

This is the fastest method and I recommend you to use it.
Construction: 50 (Teleport to Kharryl and an altar)
Quest: In Search of the Myreque (This will allow you to use the tunnel next to Canifis and a boat right to Mort'ton bridge next to Barrows)

    - How to get Barrows -

First teleport to your house and use your portal to Kharryl or use ancients magic to teleport to Canifis. Once there go behind the Canifis pub and there will be a trapdoor enter it. Follow the path and get out of the door. Once out turn your running ON and Climb the tree. Keep running in a straight line south, untill you reach a boat, once there Board the Swamp Boaty. Take the bridge to your left and you'll enter Barrows.

    Getting Barrows

    Swamp Boaty

    - Technique -

Okay, now we've reached Barrows, what will be the technique. Something really important to mention here is the following KEEP THIS IN MIND AT ALL TIMES. Always follow the same pattern, and do not break this pattern too often, otherwise you will not get Barrows, this is why many people go through dry runs. Having a killcount higher than 7 is a COMPLETE WASTE, you're probably wondering about this, why? More than 7 KC you start getting more runes less barrows. Kill the Barrows brothers in the secuence I will give you, and keep moving on if one of them is your tunnel.

    - The Massacre -

The following sequence is how we are going to kill all Barrows brothers:
    Dharok
    Ahrim
    Karil
    Guthan
    Torag
    Verac

This way you save A LOT of prayer doses.

    Method:

First go to go to Dharok (why Dharok first? Simply he's the one who can inflict more damage on you and you need to use protect from Melee). Enter his tomb turn protect from melee on and use your Black Salamander (attacking style: Blaze). Once Dharok is dead go back upstairs and turn your protect from Melee off and put your Dragon Dagger (p++) on.

Once you've done this, its time to kill Ahrim. Turn your protect from magic and special on, use all of your DDS special on Ahrim. If you have not kill him yet, wear your Black Salamander (attacking style: Flare). Once Ahrim is dead go back upstairs and turn your protect from Magic off and your attacking style on Blaze again.

Heading towards Karil. Enter Karil's tomb and turn your protect from ranged (if you have lower than 20 prayer drink a prayer dose). With Karil its important to use Blaze for the reason he's very weak to this, you could also use a whip on him and kill him very fast. Once Karil is dead go back upstairs and turn your protect from Melee if you still have any prayer and let's go Guthan.

This is very important, if you have 0 prayer don't mind drinking a dose since Guthan and Torag are pretty much weak, and Verac hits through prayer. Head to your right and use your spade to enter Guthan tomb. Use Blaze on him and he'll be dead in no time. Go back up and run all the way to your left.

Torags and Verac... Okay with Torag and Verac you're going to use the same technique as with Guthan, Blaze them. This is important tho, do not keep your Hitpoints lower than 50 with Verac as he can hit 25s and could be often.

    - Tunnel Time -

Okay this is probably the most important part. If your Tunnel is one of the followings drink a dose the second you see them; Dharok, Ahrim, Karil. DO NOT kill any NPC on the tunnel untill you get to the chest room and one attacks you. Only kill one NPC other than the brother on the tunnel, this way you will have 7 KC.

This is very important, always go in a small square surrounding the chest room, don't go to any far part unless you are at the begining and you've to go far. Yet as soon as you enter the next door you will enter back in the square surrounding the chest room.

    - Puzzles -

Okay here are some pictures of the puzzles you will need to solve, but first something to remind you. Okay when you're going on the puzzle solving time first YOU HAVE TO KNOW THEM OF MEMORY as the chances of getting a good drop getting the puzzle wrong are very very low. Yet you can only kill 1 NPC on the tunnel, so what we do if we get attacked? Easy, when you getting attacked, time how long the NPC takes on attacking you. Once he's about to hit you, click on the door and solve the puzzle.

    - Chest Room! -

Okay okay we are almost done ! Once you enter the chest room there're two chances. 1) Getting hit by a non-brother NPC: skull, rat, etc... 2) getting attacked by a Brother. If you get attack by a non-brother NPC kill it and don't kill anyone else. Before opening the chest if you have not killed the brother then get ready to fight, turn retaliate on and drink a doses if needed. If you get the brother, drink the prayer doses if you need to, remember before who are the only ones.

Finally open your chest and let's hope for BEST ! Teleport back to canifis, and stock your loots.

Here are some of my loots:

Veracs, 1 Home Tele tab with a Kharyll portal and altar built in home, pure set, 8 sara brews, 8 super restores and a couple of emergency sharks/monks.

Used that setup and did about 4-5 runs a trip..depending on my luck. That was about 2 years ago though.

I use this method and i've got over 189m in 1 month, sadly i got hacked, and lost everything, but got money for 99 magic, 80 cons, and 16m left over in 1 week. Also with this method I can last roughly some 7-8 trips and my profit is bigger since i don't waste that much money on sharks or monks, and less prayer potions.

Perfect guide, nice explanation and all.

Only if others can make them like this.

    ----

Cool, I'll try this out. Is there any reason why you should have only 7kc?
I'm inactive, so don't expect a reply from me the same day you ask for something... unfortunately.

I don't know if this has changed because I haven't played for a while - but some people believe KC affects your reward..however Jagex stated a while back that KC does not affect your reward. I have no idea whether or not they have changed this or not.

I've proved it many many times, Kill counts does affects your loot slightly, in fact what does affects your loot is Pattern. Breaking your pattern most of the times make you get worst item. Higher than 7 Kill count actually makes you get more runes, and less barrows. All of my friends that go barrows with me get like 8+ kc and I'm the only "lucky" one who got in 2 days: 5 Dh Helms, and a Guthans and Veracs Helm, and over 200m on barrows. Yes i was only doing 7 kc I never get up 7.

To all those who don't get barrows at the begining. Don't quit doing it because you don't get items, it takes times and patience. All my friends who have try this way have got over the 20m in no time.
