    Starting Out in Runescape Classic!

Welcome to my guide to starting Runescape Classic. To begin just visit this link: http://www.runescape.com/classicapplet/playclassic.ws The only requirment to play is to have an existing members account on Runescape 2.

To start off I'd like to point out that RSC is very similar to Runescape 2 in that all the cities are in the same places, shops are in the same places, and many NPCs are in the same places, you can use this to your advantage. For example, if I wanted to buy a mithril scimitar I would make my way to Al Kharid and go to the scimitar shop just north east of the bank.

When you login you will begin on tutorial island, if you wish you can follow the tutorial but the skills you have learned in RS2 are transferable to RSC, the only difference I found was that it took a lot longer to complete tasks for instance firemaking you fail a lot and must continue using your tinderbox on your logs rather than it automatically doing it, the largest impact of this is in cooking. Since we are all used to the "cook all" option in RS2 it takes awhile to get used to the constant clicking in RSC.

Side note: If you wish to skip Tutorial Island you can simply click "Skip Tutorial Island" in your options tab.

So once you get off of Tutorial Island I suggest you make your way to the chicken coop, this is in the same place as RS2. What you will be doing here is training your combat and gathering raw meat. You will be doing this for awhile as this is your main source of food. You need food because, unlike RS2, the men are level 9 and goblins are level 7. This may seem high and thats because it is, men are rather difficult for a level 3 and without food you will out of combat for long periods of time waiting for your health to regain.

Side note: You should probably bank most of your items, the nearest bank is in Al Kharid but it will cost 10gp to get there so just make your way to Varrock.

Once you have a large inventory of raw chicken you can take your axe and cut any of the many trees within RSC, then continue to use your tinderbox to make a fire. Once you have a fire just keep cooking your chicken. You will burn around 4/5th of your chicken and this can be expected until you get your cooking up. Once you have about five to ten pieces of cooking chicken and about five attack, strength, and defense(optional), you should begin killing goblins and pickpocketing men. The reason for this is that goblins drop 5gp every few kills and pickpocketing nets you 3gp each time. Unlike RS2, if you fail to pickpocket you will enter combat, you may as well finish the fight as you don't get experience until you kill your target.

Side note: If you feel the men are respawning to slow you can walk to Edgeville and kill the men in the house north of the bank.

Once you have at least ten of all of your combat stats you should focus mainly on killing men as they drop unidentified herbs. These can be sold in Varrock world 2 for a reasonable price. This is a great way to make money as even high levels in RS2 use this method.

By now I should mention that you should watch your fatigue. It doesn't go up that fast but once it hits 100% you can't do anything. To avoid this every so often sleep in your sleeping bag, this isn't a confusing process at all because all you do is click your sleeping bag, wait until your fatigue is at 0%, then type the captcha to wake up. Fatigue was put in place to stop autoers in RSC but it wasn't very effective since there were many captcha bots.

Side note: You can also sleep in many beds around RSC, the nearest bed is probably Draynor I currently don't know the difference between a bed and a sleeping bag but if I had to guess I'd say it lowers your fatigue faster.

So you have ten attack, strength and defense, what should you train on? Well why stop killing men? They are a good source of income, they give a fair amount of experience and at this point they should be easy to kill. You can keep killing these until about 30 attack, strength, and or defense but you'll probably get bored so you could work on non-combat skills like woodcutting to try to make some money, or start range. If you killed lots of men and got lots of herbs you should have plenty of money to start ranged or magic so why not take a break from melee so you don't get bored.

I should wrap it up here because at 30 melee stats and hopefully some non-combat or non-melee stats I think you have explored and gotten a feel for RSC. Personally I can't tell you what to do now as I haven't been this far. I just decided, since when I started RSC I was a little lost, to try to give you a little starter boost. Anyway I hope this guide helped and I look forward to an RSC section or RSC pictures in the futures.

There are plenty of opportunities to misuse a drug or use a drug in a bad way, that's not the drugs fault. It simply has the pharmacological chemical properties it has." - Dennis Mckenna
