I've been out of the runescape scene for quite sometime. I'm beginning to work on a project and I suppose I am curious to get in the loop again so to speak. What is desired by a majority of the community today?

Looking for your help in creating a great community!

Well a lot of people are looking for an active pking community, a lot of minigames, events etc.
But you will also have to consider that people also are into skilling and pvming on rsps so you might try to come up with something there as well I guess.

You should be asking yourself the question. " What am I looking for in a server " . A good server is one built with drive and passion - not what everyone wants. Build something that you want and players will follow. You will attract the right kind of players that way to.That is the one reason most servers fail, they are built for income not experience. They are all built with the "what do you want to see in a server" mentality. And try and cram in all this content of a list of million different people and create these silly unplayable/unoriginal servers. Build a server that youd want to play yourself not what everyone else wants to play - because you will never please EVERYONE.

And im telling you now, a good server isn't built in a day

    Thats my advice anyway.

I'd have to agree with Format. It's near enough impossible to please everyone with a server.
    Some want Pay To Win
    Some want Play to Win
    Some want to skill
    Some want to Pk
    Some want to PVM
Cover all of these and other aspects to perfection enough to a point where you can please everyone isn't possible.

If you are really creating a server for yourself to enjoy making, or for you to enjoy playing do what you want.
If you are really creating a server for your bank and income, it's possible but not easyily done without a good team and good investment.

I could be wrong but asking for "what the majority of the community wants" is hard because it's so easily split.

good luck anyways finding the information you need and creating the server, if it actually happens

Format & Vippy are spot on. "Experience" is a major factor, as everything in life is an experience. Being able to flow multiple different play-styles into the content & having the dedication it takes to continuously improve on that experience is something that seems not easy to capture. The majority of people looking to make a server are looking for the dollars and provide less than quality content. Not only that but being able to communicate with your community about the state of the server & being compassionate to them as people and not just players. This day in age people are much more likely to share things about their personal life's, photos of themselves or things they enjoy, and the engagement is really a key for loyal players. I have enjoyed countless other servers with much less content because of the owners and staff team or even the community. Again, it's an experience & YOU are the host.

    Good luck on your journey!
