    This, I can't imagine they would rewrite the entire engine to work on mobile. Though, they may have to make several optimizations in order for it to work smoothly.

    I also can't imagine this being entirely that good for PKing, PVMing or other click intensive activities.

    They seem to be marketting it as that from the images but in reality we all know people are just going to use this for skilling and maybe some minigames. Perhaps even slayer with revolution active, not like it takes much effort (for some tasks).

    I believe they mentioned designing NXT to be able to port to other platforms, will be interesting to see what they decide to do with osrs

    They would need to make use of the GPU when porting to mobile, I believe OSRS is still 100% software rendered. Maybe this will lead to an OpenGL/DirectX implementation on the desktop client as well?

    I would presume it would have to mean that OpenGL/DX would HAVE to be implemented in that case since they would need hardware rendering just to have it display on a mobile device/tablet? So, we can only hope. lol

    Not necessarily. Most of the work would be done for the main client when the OpenGL raster is done for mobile but it wouldn't work out-of-the-box for the desktop client. This would explain why they are hiring engine developers so aggressively for an "unannounced MMO"
