Thread: Thoughts on Tech Cultures Choice of Words Being Changed

Blacklist = Ignore, Void, Reject
Whitelist = Regard, Success, Notice?

Slave = Retainer?
Master = Ace, Main, Top?



No idea is this post is spam, but I wanted to give a serious answer. I know some of these terms are used in programming, but in general, as a rename those are the most fitting ones I could come up with.

These are just pretty awful. There are actually good, proper alternative terms available here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

These are just as good as—if not better than—the original words and also carry no negative connotations or racial baggage.
