And McDonalds is hard and unpleasant work, and I bet you'd also talk shit about refuse collection, sewege work, retail, bussing and waiting... any job that doesn't require a GED, because you got one and that makes you Better Than Everyone Else. Well, there aren't enough teenagers in america to fill all of those jobs, so in your magical world where nobody is a "bum" you have no shops, no restaurants, garbage piled in the streets, and no working sewage system. Kind of funny how without all those things the world starts to sound a lot more like the middle ages - the same place your dumbass values belong.
Paying everyone a livable wage out of who’s pocket? If all those jobs you listed gave livable wages the price of the product/services would increase which would most likely lead to a sales decrease and fuck up plenty of companies, unless you’re talking about making all these services government controlled, which goes against the entire premise of this country. Also, just a question, you being a very talented developer who many of us less skilled developers look up too, dont you think you deserve more income/better quality of life than a fast food employee? You obviously put in countless hours building up your skill set, and now your work is valued at more than someone who hasn’t done any of that. It’s a free market, nobody’s forcing anybody to be paid small wages, or high wages, work has a value, anybody can do those jobs. Even though they’re necessary, it isn’t hard to find a replacement if someone doesn’t like the wages being paid to them. However nobody would give a developer a cheap wage because nobody would study years to build up knowledge just to get paid shit amount of money.

Also, why does a certain job entitle a person to better quality of life? Are you saying that peoples quality of life should depend on their job title?

Almost everyone in the country has more money but sales will decrease? U should try thinking more than one step ahead. (I'm assuming you're just talking about the cost of items changing and not talking about inflation - which would also be wrong).

Yes, I think talented people deserve more money than McDonalds workers. That doesn't mean McDonalds workers don't deserve to be able to live decently, or die because they can't afford healthcare. You increase the wages of everyone except the top 1%, you don't set everyone except the top 1% to the same salary. It's really not that complicated

Yeah? If you make more money you can live a better life and your job is what dictates how much you make. Also there’s no way you can pay everyone a livable wage while still having people make big money. Where’s all that money going to come from? Either you put everyone in the middle class, have a few people making like 150k-200k max, or you leave it how it is now. Why not go after millions if you have the potential?

Imagine money being the only contributing factor in regards to quality of life.

Mate money contributes to everyone’s quality of life. Never said it’s the only one but if you had 10x more money than you did now I’m sure you’d have a better time, that applies to everyone.

Nah man I just don’t think someone like Bezos should be taxed 80% so that people who didn’t achieve what he did can have a better life. Robbery being masked as generosity.

imagine thinking one person deserves to be a billionaire off the back of millions of other peoples work. this is so delusional. "achieved what he did" as if he did it alone lmfao

Imagine thinking you or anyone else are entitled to a single dollar of somebody else’s money. He didn’t do it alone but he started it, if you make an rsps and hire a dev are you not going to keep the vast majority of the profits? I doubt you’d go and feed the homeless m8. it’s easy to say until the government pulls up on you demanding $100b out of ur 140. I agree that nobody should be dying and there are issues with the system, but communism and socialism are not the solution. Taxes can be increased on the super rich and we need to make sure they pay their fair share. But no way could I ever see anything above 30% being implemented that’s a joke.
