Not sure exactly but there were probably a bunch of reasons. When it was first banned, everyone was allowed to make profile requests so there would have been a ton more requests, plus the post bit backgrounds were being introduced which automatically makes your stats white so that would have also been interfered with. Other reasons like moving stats, strange fonts and colors etc were annoying.

No I'm not. I'm learning myself some Japanese tho, and probably going to take lessons too.
