Well, I spend more time drawing than anything so from my opinion doing some doodles would be a good way to spend time. From a digital design standpoint, you should try creating an abstract piece using as few resources as possible. Using excessive amounts of resources only causes them to become a crutch in your future pieces and stunts learning.
