Nice work, I've been trying out digital painting. It's a lot more difficult than I thought.

Are you using a drawing tablet?

That looks pretty sick actually. By this picture I can't tell you're a beginner.
The only thing is that the apple looks a bit iron.
    But good job on this.

Hey, good job on this man considering that you're a beginner.

I'd heavily advise you to paint the apple its realistic colours initially with a (real life) reference with you whilst you sketch. This way the tones would look far more accurate and if you wanted it monotone, just simply add a filter when you're done with it at the end. You'll find that it'd look a heap better this way

Looks pretty neat, I like the fact that you did it black/white; it's appealing.

I'm not going to work in color. Working with color is pretty advanced imo. You have to make sure the values of your color and the shading all blend right. B&W you just have lighting to work with. I'll worry about coloring things when I get to that point. Thanks for the comment though.

You'd find that the initial painting in colour would be more accurate in monotone when you put a filter on it. Whatever you prefer is obviously the best method!

    Good job though
