The face is coming together really nicely. As much effort and time as it takes to add all of those little brush strokes for contrast changes, it really does make a difference. The only real feedback I'd have at the moment is don't be afraid to start adding in some new colors, such as bright yellows to contribute to the power and emphasis of your light sources. Plain white works, but it's quite soft and safe, which as you can see in your reference picture is hardly what's happening, especially around [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] areas. I'd really like to see the same effort put all around the body in trying to emphasize the skin texture and minute changes in color and contrast that come with it.

Keep it up, you're off to a great start.

Great feedback brother! Yeah, the texture in the skin is a tricky one, especially the smaller details - I may have to start working with larger canvases as 1920x1080 is really limited for that
Got a lot of ways to go, but this helps with some perspective

Don't be afraid too much to zoom in! The canvas you're working with is pretty appropriately sized for the image you're drawing. Have you considered looking up some guides on brush texture or even finding a couple of resources? It looks like you're using default value brushes with adjustments made in hardness and opacity, but there's some brush settings/defaults out there that I think would really tickle your fancy for the kind of texture they leave. On a side note, and this is a pretty estranged suggestion, but the /ic/ board over at 4chan has some pretty serious gatekeeping issues but is a great place to learn and sort of interact with other people who're interested in doing this type of design. It's hard to receive a proper critique here because not too many people are well versed in technique which limits their ability to give some decent feedback. If you post it over at /ic/ people will be assholes there, but if you're able to extract useful advice from their bullshit it's a great resource.

looks pretty flat, probably due to the shading. try changing the hue values when adding shadows, for the shadows go to the colder side and for the lighting to the warmer side.

Tried getting some resource brushes, couldn't find anything that was good for exactly what I was trying to execute, daarken gets the closest

I like the design so far, of course it could use some work with the finer details, but its coming along very nicely so far
