adopting their settings will make it render better as well

No matter what I do in Cinema 4D, the text always comes out with shit lighting, and if I add a color onto it (or a pattern or whatever), it doesn't even show up. Also, the text is way zoomed out. Could somebody PLEASE help/teach me? And don't tell me to "use Youtube" because I've looked at dozens of videos, and their lighting is fine (for some reason).
Please reply or Skype me.

When you apply texture to a layer on C4D, choose the texture-color on the layer (top right panel). Selecting that will display another menu below it (bottom right), in here find how choose "projection" and switch it to "cubic". This should make it display on atleast 6 sides.
Edit: This is what I do when applying textures to text. You may have to experiment with different options if the object is something else.
as for the lighting, try adding several lights and distributing them around until it appeals to you. I personally dont use lightrooms usually because I need transparency. There might be a way to export only one layer, but if there is I dont know how.
As far as the text being zoomed out, assuming your not zoomed out when youre rendering it, It could have something to do with your export options.
If youre using a free version it could be old or broken.
