I think the real thing is that you could go message another designer you know and get solid feedback on a piece, or you can post it on the graphics section of rune-server for the majority comment of "wow looks nice good work". That's why I don't share, because for the most part I get nothing from it except for kids messaging me to design their logo for 10 bucks.
Understandable that people attend more to IRL events than showcase work on R-S.
But theres people with Designer Rank that has not posted anything since 2014..
Ive gotten so much help from Designers on r-s and i am forever grateful. But some of them are unactive and dont care anymore most likely
I was going to post here quite a lot, but I just haven't found much inspiration. Last stuff I did was on that Empire rsps when I got requests. I go through deviantart and behance quite a bit seeing stuff I wish to do but have no idea how to go about doing it. Sort of like I don't trust my own skills or I don't have the motivation to learn which is bad on my part. Would love to do stuff in After Effects so badly, just can't get my hands on it, whether free or not.

It isn't just the graphics section that's suffering. Anything rank related is. There's not even a handful of promotions per year in r-s nowadays for any special rank. It feels like the staff isn't promoting anyone because the people who have ranks from the year fuck off have set the bar so high, not because they were this experienced back when they got it, but because they're that experienced now - and that's the bar they use to measure people up.
I could write a massive block of things that's wrong with rune-server nowadays but I just don't see it worth my time.
I probably know about 70% (if that) of Photoshop's features, this inhibits certain styles to be completely elusive to me and I'm left clueless - but that's just inexperience and lack of practice on my part.
Isak is right, practice, practice, practice.
A lot of people didn't really specialise in one style back then but once you found your niche you just kinda stuck with it.
Edit: Also just a quick mention on ranks. Back when Designer first launched we used to vote each other in. So god knows what they do now.
