Honestly, simplicity is what always make logos and stuff like that eye catching.

Hi guys,
So I would like to ask a question in regards to business logos. I'm working on constructing my logo concept for designing & branding solutions. Can a simple logo be more powerful than a complex one? I mean look at Visa, Nike, Apple, and much more logos out there that are so simple, yet they are popular brands.
This is just a quick mock up:
I would like to hear reasonable arguments/statements that answers my question. I'm pretty sure I am not confused, i'm just looking for reasonable answers.
I need answers in order to work on my final sketches and construct the final logo.
A logo needs to be:
Simple
Memorable
Timeless
Versatile
Appropriate
Honestly, simplicity is what always make logos and stuff like that eye catching.
doesn't look like a logo at all, just looks like any random text. colors making it more complex and not in a good way. two different type fonts? the main text has a bold font and the slogan is on arial caps? the icon is on a different font too? erhm, why?
just saying stuff about that mock-up you've done, its awful.
If you're doing it for personal branding then just follow the logo etiquette. Using your initials to make a cool design is the simple way, also try to follow the current logo trends (you always have to keep yourself modern as a designer). look up for inspiration, think of what actually represents you and your work. modern? minimalist? complex? first do it on b/w with no colors, it always gives you a better sense. and don't forget to follow the actual logo design rules, otherwise you'll look illiterate. It may take a long time to create yourself a logo, especially without proper branding experience, and if you do your first logo, its probably going to look horrible. you can also stop in the middle of the process and take a look on what you're working, sometimes you can see that its not worth to continue. Ugh, and we can't actually tell you what exactly you should do, its your thing, if you're the one to design it then you're the one to think of the idea itself too. we can just give you some guidelines to work with.
goodluck.
