You said that scaling down a 2000x1000 large image would create a more High quality look to the image.
That's false, I'm going to have to say you haven't practiced this way with your signatures either. Otherwise you'd see that you actually lose quality and completely sharpen edges that shouldn't be. It looks awful that way. Here's the proof.

Top has no changes, alterations or anything. The bottom is the same image, saved as PNG and scaled to 500x441

The ONLY way quality could become a problem is either A saving the image as a JPEG. Or using low-quality resources for your image.

Otherwise all of that is how the designer decided to go with their image.

This is basically common sense. Unless it's vector art, images created at a certain size will look ugly when re sizing it a lot.

I understand that, but Bart swore up and down that it would increase quality by making a signature 1000x2000 then scaling to a desirable size. Which I wanted to prove wrong by example.

The edges become sharpened because too many pixels try to bundle up but you can't resize anything to the half of a pixel or anything so some pixels perish away.

Resizing vectors doesn't cause that problem because a special algorithm is used for it.

Can I ask why you're explaining this to me?
I know this, otherwise the thread would not have been made.

I scaled it without degrading the image. I think that's what Bart meant.

Your scaled version next to mine.

It changed nothing, and quality does NOT improve.

Considering what I Just said to banished, what does this accomplish?

Most of Strade's images are being resized, that loses quality of the picture, if he does it like that i won't be losing as much quality... >_> meh.
