And there has always been some great projects in development, and I do have hope that some make it to a playable for the public state but most don't because it takes a shit ton of time.

I just think the whole decade of 2010-2020 will be unmatched in terms of the amount of people that were involved with RSPS and the amount of unique servers you'd see out there (and just servers in general, much more available especially during the early-mid 2010s). Sure a lot of them probably didn't have masterpiece code but if it's fun it's fun.
I think a lot of it is just down to bad timing. These brand new servers seem to come in waves, rather than be spread out evenly over the months/years. 2019-2020 had several brand new servers release, since then it's died down in terms of releases, but the development is still there. Multiple teams(e.g. the ones I mentioned above, although there are more) are working behind the scenes, and I have a feeling all of them will release within the span of a year. 2023 will be interesting for RSPS, I'm quite confident in that. Until then though, all there's left to do is complain

Oh and PS: RSPS in generally go on a decline after winter. Things will begin to pick up again by around the end of summer. I've seen this pattern repeat for the past few years now.

Do keep in mind, as Kris said before, there are less developers in the scene now as many have moved on. That also contributes to his point of servers coming in waves.

Yeah, i'd imagine a lot of people moved on which is why I would consider the RSPS scene to be dying to an extent. I know there's still talented devs out there that are still involved, but from the time I started RSPS (2007) to now I can see a night and day difference between the amount of people playing and developing RSPS. I'm turning 26 this year so I could understand that a lot of the developers that were making the servers I enjoyed are probably in their 30s with other focuses.

The problem in all reality is all RSPS are using the same leaked sources as everyone else.

Yeah, no originality anymore. That's what made RSPS good was originality, not using the same leaked sources or trying to copy OSRS 1:1.

sadly it changed dramatically over the many years rsps has been available to public, i remember when my uncle was fidgeting with 508s and it made me want to start.
but like carl said, everyone just takes and nothing content-related is new. Its all the same.
