Hey
After sperging about the last 8 years and doing absolutely nothing I decided to get back into programming. Figured I'd start off where I left; RSPS.
So I came back to this place insead of mopar because, well, mopar is dead and you guys seem to be the most active part of what's left of the RSPS dev scene.
I've been browsing the forums for a bit and I've noticed some cool new things such as map editors and a bunch of other weird stuff, I really feel out of the loop.
Back in my day, playing around with the client was limited to pushing sprites around, loading custom models and shit into the client and that's it.
The most ground-breaking client 'hack' we ever saw on mopar was multi-plane view. You could stand on top of Lumbridge castle and you could actually see the people walking around in the castle's courtyard.
Anyways, I'm back but I do have a couple of questions
- What's up with the .RSI interface files showing up here and there?
- What the heck are XTEAS?
- I've browsed the downloads section for a bit and it seems that people are still using 317 clients. Do we not have adaptations of the OSRS client?
- How viable is it to grab the latest OSRS client release, decompile it and use it for private work?
That's it for now I guess..
Looking forward to pick up my old hobby, maybe learn things here and there and hopefully I can contribute to what's left of the RSPS community
