Spotify free is free and unlimited in usage for only the first six months. After that term, users will be limited to ten (10) hours of free listening in any month, with a cap of five (5) listens to any particular track.

Just heard about this, pretty damn pumped!

It probably just has the hour limitation like Spotify for countries outside of the US.
Maybe a few song limitations but I still think it's going to be awesome.

There isn't any catch. Spotify was launched in Europe long before It was Released in the US. Free version allows you to listen to 10 hours worth of songs for free and you can listen to any track up to 5 times. Unlimited which costs £5 here gives you the latest album releases, unlimited hours and you can listen to any track for any number of times you want. With Premium you get the same features as unlimited and a little bit more along with the ability to put spotify on your phone and ipod and so on. You also get the ability to listen to songs online/offline aswell.
