Compiled a quick list, plan to edit a lot more, but these are short, and should really be watched first, never start with a longer season, I hate them, and you'll hate them, then you'll hate anime, and then i'll hate you.
Added some from every genre, go me.

Another!
26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her
classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Sakakibara Kouichi transfers to the class, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Mei Misaki who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures. My Opinion: Very interesting anime, concept similar to the likes of Final Destination, was paced very nicely, and the soundtracks and creepy opening really brought me in. A must watch.Genres: Mystery, Drama, Horror, School

Elfen Lied (HARD TO GRASP, THINK TWICE)
The Diclonius, a mutated homosapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possess two horns on their heads and have a "sixth sense" which gives them telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murders most of the guards in the laboratory where she is being held, only to be shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives, falling off a cliff into the ocean and manages to drift along to a beach where two teenagers, Kouta and Yuka, discover her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, "Nyuu," and the two allow her to stay at Kouta's home. However, it appears that the psychotic side of Lucy is not dead just yet...My Opinion: Personally, I thought for the longest time this had to of been the best anime ever. It was very unique, even with the opening, and how the story is so captivating, the character development and other aspects such as sound is superb for an anime of it's age.Genres: Action, Drama, Horror, Romance, Psychological

Yuri tells him that she leads the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and wages war against a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri's claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn't go as he intended.
Otonashi decides to join the SSS and battle Tenshi, but he finds himself oddly drawn to her. While trying to regain his memories and understand Tenshi, he gradually unravels the mysteries of the afterlife. My Opinion: Love the anime, simply as of now, the best anime I've seen to date, amazing characters and soundtracks, loved the idea, and basically there was nothing I could say that was bad about it, maybe some the characters could be described in one word, but meh. Animations were smooth, artstyle was amazing, manly tears were shed.Genres: Action, Comedy, Supernatural

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
After enrolling at the Constant Magic Academy, Akuto Sai discovers he's not just a gifted student with magical powers; he's destined to become the Demon King. And though he's not that crazy about the idea, it drives the girls wild! From the sexy school girls in his class to the skin-obsessed android who's programmed to seduce him, Akuto has no shortage of wacky girl trouble. How much temptation can a demon king take?My Opinion: This anime, was freaking hilarious, one of the only animes that I've seen that many genres for. Highschool of the Dead
A mysterious, lethal disease is on the loose worldwide, resulting in a catastrophic death rate of humanity, and the increasing rise of attacks, caused by the living dead.
In Japan, several high school students and a school nurse have banded together to escape Fujimi High School shortly after it was attacked by zombies. The group now attempts to figure who or what was responsible for this plague, and in the meantime, attempt to survive the present apocalypse.
The story is initially narrated through the eyes of Takashi Komuro, one of the students who had survived in the initial outbreak. My Opinion: Breasts, which breasts, and a side order of zombies, but mostly breasts. Hey, what were we talking about? The ecchi was a bit over used, but if you look past it, there is zombies!Genres: Action, Ecchi, Horror, Supernatural
