Yes, it gives you that nico rush and there are various levels.

I used to smoke it a lot. I have to say the relaxing part is different for everyone. I just enjoy sitting on a couch and watching the thick smoke slowly fade away. That's the relaxing part for me.
I don't like any super sweet tobacco's/stones/paste. I prefer the fruitier ones.
If you want to have a nice touch to your flavour and really boost it, you should add a little bit of mint to your mix.
I could never get my head around hookah and why people like it, was always a big bud smoker till I quit that.
I managed a hookah bar for 2 years before I had my kid. I still frequent the bar time to time, have been all week actually as a storm has had a lot of my city without power the past week. Been going there to get some work done every night this week.
I'm a fan of hookah, and at one time in my life I smoked it WAY too much. during my last couple months working at the bar, I was smoking a hookah from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed. That being said, I would never get to that point again, and at no point was getting away from it difficult like cigarettes are. From the time I stopped working at the bar, to the time I started working construction, I went from smoking 18 hours a day on a hookah to MAYBE once a week as a Friday celebration. There was no addiction factor to me in the slightest.
I recommend new smokers to try thinner cut shishas like Starbuzz, or even try a 0 nicotine shisha to prevent the nicotine buzz. I personally enjoy Al Fakher flavors, a favorite of mine is mixing Blueberry, Vanilla, and Mint flavors. The mint makes for a very cool and thick smoke, and the blueberry and vanilla together add a good subtle flavor. If anyone was to try this, I would recommend going a little light on the mint, as it is a strong flavor.
Some days off I still might wake up, go sit on my front porch with a pot of tea, some fruit, and a hookah.
Mint is always a go to! It is one of the only flavors that really goes will with anything.
THIS! This right here is what I meant exactly, thank you Chance! You are right I would say start off with some Al Fakher & Starbuzz; I think it is not only the best Newbie brand but the best brand to stick with entirely, very consistent results and doesn't really change much. On the other hand I've been experimenting lately with different brands such as Tangiers, Fumari & Trifecta. All of which are good but have their own pro's and cons. I practically have almost every HMD and to get good results you need certain bowl's (or as I call them heads) and a lot of experimenting. Not that its too deep or anything, but this painted a perfect picture in my head and this is what I meant "Some days off I still might wake up, go sit on my front porch with a pot of tea, some fruit, and a hookah." That to me is the epitome of smoking hookah.
I also think you are right about cigarettes vs hookah and I'd hate to put it like this but; far less addictive than cigarettes, as they contain thousands of other harmful and addictive chemicals.
Holy shit 18 hours a day. How many times did you change the coals and flavours?
The best hookah sessions I've had are at home or at a friends house. Your own hookah, some moroccan mint tea is really nice at the end of a day.
Some flavours I can recommend: Love 66, Ladykiller, Lemon Ice and Mi Amor.
Omg I've been wanting to try love 66! How is it? My sessions usually last a LONG time with just 2-3 coals. Aprox 2-3HR's.
I've recently tried Peppermint Shake by Trifecta and I just order 4 more 250g it is one of my favorite flavors atm. Also you gotta try orange soda by tangier's! I suggest getting the Birquq brand less nicotine as this brand is extremely strong. You might want to have a phunnel bowl/head and make sure it's packed really dense.
Maybe I will start a spreadsheet for flavor's I've tried and like and you guys can do as you please with it
I would not have smoked that much if I didn't have such a wide access to as much free hookah as I wanted being a manager lol. I worked a majority of that time upwards of 12 hours sitting in the bar as we also had a full bar and kitchen to take care of as well. But depending essentially. We had quick light coals as well as the coconut coals, coconut coals I would just smoke 3 coals on one standard red clay bowl and then once those burnt through (rotating often) I would repack the bowl, lightly packed always which is another reason a lot of people experience headaches. a heavily packed bowl (an improper one) can definitely call for a harsher and lighter smoke while taking more lung power to inhale. With quick light coals, I would just smoke two coals, after those die, I replace with another two on the spots that had not bene burnt. The only good quicklight coals I've encountered though have been starlight, though I would recommend coconaras or cocobuzz coals ahead of those anytime because the quick light chemicals stink and sometimes affect the flavor.
My personal favorite setup is a Khalil Maamoon hookah, with an ice chamber, add some lemons and limes to the water, and a lemon, vanilla, mint shisha in a vortex bowl. Kinda tastes like a lemon cookie lol.
Y'all touched one of my subjects here I'm just babbling along lol.
Chance will have to talk to you on discord I could go on forever. I actually use the CocoUrth Coals best IMO or Titanium coals are good too. About a year ago I bought a Starbuzz Carbine Hookah I love it. If you still currently smoke I would love to share some of my past smokes that I think you'd like.
