Does anyone know what happens if your driving license becomes restricted? I had a fit last May and collapsed in January from some severe headrush. My mum pushed me to go to the doctor about it all and they've wrote them down as both seizures. Apparently when you have a siezure you can bite your tongue, piss yourself and some other shit. I was only slightly jerking. The hospital have reported it to the DVLA even though I said I would (well I wasn't going to), and now I'm waiting on an outcome to bullshit reports that the hospital have wrote. The first fit I only had 3 bottles of beer and was paralytic at a house party and assumed I was spiked. In the January I was heavily drinking the day before.

My only concern is how long do you think I will be restricted for? And do they ask you to return your license? At the moment it's my only form of ID as my passport is around 3 years out of date and it takes a fair few weeks to receive another. And it;s £75?

Does anyone also know if theirs a way to appeal against their decision and take it to court?

Well if it's drinking which is causing seizures, and your seeming only worried about your license for ID to use for what I can only assume is buy to more drinks. Then I think you need to start taking a good look at yourself in the mirror.

Also the gov site has this helpful page

It doesn't state anything about them asking for the license back at all. And I also smoke and if I go to a pub to chill with some friends you get asked for ID after 8PM on week days and 6PM on weekends around where I live.

That's the thing I'm not an alcoholic and don't drink often, but I guess it could just be where I over do it when I do decide to drink?

They'll make you surrender your license if they think you're a risk at the wheel, ie you have a seizure behind the wheel. Believe its around 10% that'll they will make you surrender it.

Like five years ago, I had been drinking so much, that the next day i had a seizure in the middle of the street. It can be sign of something seriously being wrong, should probably stop drinking for a while and see how it effects you. Drinking is bad.

I still drink occasionally now, first seizure was after maybe 3 bottles of beer and I felt fucked at a house party so I'm sure something was put in my drink. The second time I spent about £120 on a night out but it was the next day which I still believe it was head rush as I was laying down in one position for a few hours. But even drinking occasionally now still has gives no implication of anything I had before my seizure or episode of collapse. The hospital thinks it may be epilepsy which I highly doubt as I'm not sensitive to light, unless it's pitch black and goes light like everyone else. I gotta go for an MRI scan on my brain and something similar to an ECG to check the electrodes that my brain outputs, I think it's called an EEG? I just don't want a great halt in my life and not do anything but work for the next year.
