Once you go mac theres no way back. But if you're trying to play games its not really the biggest pleasure to do on a mac
|
I had a MacBook Air for 4 years until recently switching to a Dell XPS 15.
Some things you should note:
- Out of two computers with identical specs, one being a Mac and one being a Windows Laptop, the Mac will always be more expensive (hundreds). That's just how it is.
- I bought my Dell XPS 15 for $1,700. This had better specs (by a fair amount) than the highest end Mac, which was $2,600 lmao. This is a pattern that will probably always be true.
- Macs are really a lot more satisfying to use. Most Windows Laptop's have really janky track pads that are annoyingly unresponsive sometimes. Windows Laptops also tend to be buggier and suffer more from winrot. I have a really high end laptop and I've noticed quite a few bugs in it that are really annoying. I don't think it has to do with windows, but rather with the laptop. When I switched to a Mac from a Windows laptop it was noticeable how much less satisfying a laptop is to use. Everything feels clunky.
- Macbooks offer interoperability with their iPhone's. For example, you can text from your computer if you sync you iPhone to it. If you have an iPhone, its just more of a reason to get a Mac. When I had my Mac, I didn't have an iPhone. But I saw my friends always texting from their Mac and it felt weird that I wasn't able to.
- Mac's retina display is beautiful, that's honestly the only thing that justifies a higher price. But it certainly doesn't justify a $900 higher price for worse specs.
- Macs are sleek and lightweight, this adds to how satisfying they are. They are also a lot more durable and hard to break.
I'm getting bored writing this so I'm just gunna stop with those points. Hope I helped somehow.
If you really care about the logo on the back being an Apple, then buy a low end Mac I guess lol. If you want better specs for lower price, buy a windows laptop.
However, of course if money isn't an issue buy the highest end Mac. That's what I would have done.
windows and dual boot ubuntu
As I tell everyone, if you're trying to play games, I would not recommend a Mac at all, but for any work or school related things, Macs work really well.
I bought an iMac in 2013 and started doing all of my work from it and to this day I'm still usign that same iMac with no problems in performance. I've always had a cheap windows computer to the side for some basic gaming when I feel up to the task, but OSRS/RS3 run fine on my MacBook that I bought in July.
Definitely though, once you get a mac, you will not want to go back from it. It doesn't deserve the bad rap any people give it, and you can also use Bootcamp and choose to run Widnows or Mac on startup (seamless, no issues at all really, runs just like a windows computer)
I'm using OS X since am young , it's pretty cool for Website developement , graphism & Programming on IDE.
Keep in mind that you could build a war machine with the price of a Mac
