+ he's asking about operating systems for laptops, not overall usability.

Answer all the questions and keep count of your total points. If points are between 6-8 then mac is for you, if between 9-12 then pc is for you.

Same applies to pc as laptop.

    It completely depends on what you plan on using it for;
If your planning to use for Gaming/programming and are somewhat techy then - PC,
If you want video editing/creative and aren't so techy or have an iphone - Mac

I've personally used both for development and while mac OS used to have some advantages such as multiple desktops (which most reg users won't ever touch) as a whole the mac software and keybindings are illogical and frustrating. But I can also see the appeal of a trust worthy company and device with solid build quality.

i would disagree on the second point, i'd only consider pc only for gaming, programming i'd stick to osx or bsd / linux distro

Yes I would agree linux > windows > mac for programming. Learning mac with windows background somethings just didn't make sense, like the delete key doesn't delete selected files you have to shift delete or drag to the recycle bin. And let's not touch on Xcode or IOS development

    I've used both.

    Mac:
*Very meh for programming, makes your life harder rather than simplify things
*Very laggy with age, many useless default programs, etc.
    *OS looks good

    Windows
    *Pretty sure they last longer
*Very easy to navigate through, and change according to your needs
    *Very easy to program on
*Parts can easily be replaced, etc.

Honestly I'd go for a windows laptop 100%. Get anything decent or if you can't afford a good one just get something decent with low RAM and upgrade the RAM whenever you have the money. Best of luck.

I'd say the biggest advantage of having a mac for me is that it syncs up with all other apple shit i have at home, i can answer calls on my mac and ipad and iphone and whatever, it's really convenient. but any 'work' I have to do I usually do it on windows (https://support.apple.com/boot-camp). mac was too expensive for the shit that i use it for but if you're not a remorseful buyer and you want some convenience, i'd say go for it, but you most def. won't regret a pc
