    Hello,

I've been charged back in the past on a paypal account I wasn't really following, so then a time came where I wanted to check howmuch funds I still had on it and I saw -80 euros, so I checked my mail and saw some dude won a charge back because I didn't fill in any information regarding it in when they asked.

So I kept it -80 euros because there is no point in paying a debt on a account I barely use... Thus far nothing happened for a few weeks.

But then I had done some services for a few guys and I accidentally gave the negative paypal email to one of my customers which he sent 20 euros to.

Now I think this is where the problem arised, I payed 20 euros out of my 80 euros debt... which obviously sucked but the real problem is that a week later Paypal sent me a mail claiming that from now on infoscore (debt collection agency) will handle my debt from there on.

I did not see this mail because I don't check my rsps e-mail too oftenly... The next time I logged onto the mail the first thing I saw was that the debt was raised to 281 euros in about 3 weeks time and they sent me a mail which kinda scared me claiming that they will send a debt collector to my house (while knowing the adress on the paypal is fake, but I did order few things on the same paypal account which was then sent to my real adress)

The only thing which really worries me is that my mothers bank account was linked to this paypal account but has been unlinked for more than 2 years now, will they try to get the money from the last person who they have the bank details from? There has never been a credit card linked and the account exists for about 7 years now.

Can I ignore these fuckers or should I take up certain action?

    Thanks in advance.
    Keep your head up.

I'd say call them up say that it's an old unused account which is linked to an unchecked email address and you'd like to challenge the charge-back and have the account value set back to 0.

You can ignore them I did for 3 years before finally paying them $480. They didn't raise what I owed but they constantly called me and annoyed me, they were all talk when it happened but things change. They stated they were going to do a lot of things yet none of them fell through, it never was reported to my credit nor was it charged to my bank account or anything, they have to have your consent to do so anyway, unless the ToS has been updated. However, when I had this issue was in 2011 - Paid it in 2015.

Why did you eventually pay them? Pure because the phone calls were annoying you? Glad that they don't have mine lol

If I call them up it only looks like it's gonna worsen the situation because then they will have my phone number and they will know it's me who owns the account / e-mail adress.

I paid them because my social security number was verified on my PP and I thought they might eventually report it, it never did go to collections but I needed to use my paypal again and since my social was on it, i couldn't verify another account with my address, bank cards, account or social, because they have a blacklist if you try registering another account or adding a card with that information.

thats why a debt will rise until its worth collecting

@OP offer paypal a minimum payment of a token amount (maybe a couple bucks a month). If they decline it send it anyway, then if they take you to court or try and increase the debt in any form you have evidence you have paid installments that you can afford. Double check what im saying though as im unsure about how this works in the US.

Just call them up and explain the first charge back situation, either way just get in touch with them so they stop rising the amount.
