Yup, works great. Been using it for a few months now to back up YouTube channels that I like.

Not too sure about that, it's at 0 . It would have to go minus to even be remotely close to his IQ.

    Your statement causes me worry.

@Jason, you should be fine, it would be down to the user of the program (if you distributed it) to ensure that what they are doing in their country is legal or not.

I'll keep this information in mind. Thank you.

I used to have a list of all the filetypes as a link where you'd replace the video ID in the link and be able to download that video in whatever format you choose.
Can't seem to find it though, although youtube-dl does look like the best bet.
Also, are you using automator at all to help with this or just pure AppleScript?

isn't youtube to mp3 already illegal to use because it is a form of piracy? I'd say it's risky as an overall software to distribute

    Savage.

Finished bundling the jar and required files into a mac application bundle. Came together quite nice (bottom right), if only I could distribute freely .

The name is pretty catchy. As far as distribution goes, I'm not entirely sure how that'd go about legally.

I'll tell you the same thing my lawyers told me. It's a thin grey line and you'll get knocked right off it.

Furthermore, you're using 3rd party websites without the site owners permission, automating services via a 3rd party is a bit stupid since they can take measures to block your software. If you really want to do this, I have some Java code that can take a YouTube URL and grab the raw audio from their servers, no conversion needed. Make your application self-contained and don't promote piracy.

Finally if this is a pet project, I suggest using .NET Core to write a multi-platform C# application, you'll find application adoption will be a lot more swift as more and more end users distrust Java altogether.
    What am I watching now?
