It's been a long time since I've actually been around here, curious to see what some of you are up to. Let's all catch up, shall we?
Got a new job? Car? Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Wife/Husband? We'd love to hear about it.
I'm excluding my own from this first post to blend in with the rest of the posts.
I've been working on my computer, upgrading hardware.
Outside of technology: Recently had a break up in a 6 month relationship, but things are leveling out now. Not too much, other than finishing school a little over a year ago.

In the past I was a pretty sketchy person, and I've worked on improving that. It's a weird subject, but it's also a personal goal to be a better person not only for myself but those who surround me. It's quite difficult to change who you are but I've been battling that issue for awhile now. I recently even made a thread about lying on here, and ever since I haven't told a single lie. I mean, i'm sure everyone has lied at least once but I had a problem where I consistently lied to people so no one could figure me out but I'd like to think that issue is solved!
tl;dr: all i've done other than programming and working on my computer i've worked on bettering myself as a person
I broke up with my significant other in October of last year, and since then got my life together in a big way. A new job as a Programmer and Sysadmin, great friends, and a completely different view on life make me way happier than where I was a year ago, a complete mess after things went south with the person I thought I loved.
I gave up on a lot of things, including anything Runescape, which unfortunately meant a lot of people here too, but gained so much knowledge on the professional world and what being a productive member of society is like. Things are going well, though I still have a long way to go to be where I want in life, I'm well on my way.
Break ups are never easy, and props to you for getting out of the silly world of private servers. I am unfortunately still in it, but more as a hobby than anything. It's a good distraction.Quote:

Especially after a year and a half on and off, but they were incredibly toxic and made me push away some of my best friends. I've gotten more into gameserver hosting (TF2, Rust, Minecraft, etc) in my community, plus personal projects like my pastebin and others. Biggest part of it all is that I actually have money in savings now, a fallback if something goes wrong, plus freedom to do what I want.Quote:

Yeah I definitely agree on that. I've worked on some other things but it still involved private servers. Such as PROVote (pm if you want the site link) which was a site to handle voting for servers without them needing to install anything.Quote:

I've never played TF2, Rust or even Minecraft. I've heard Rust is good though

I finished my second year also being the final year of College for my Carpentry course, had quite the experience a long the way with a girl who's now my ex. Got a job with a company 2 weeks after graduating, after being with them for 2 months I was offered a better opportunity with great benefits working with another company. Been working 3 months now with the company and is going well, main goal is to get my apprentice hours :).
In the last year, I've been trying to expand my knowledge in web development and slowly making my way to server development (Java). I got a job as a website manager for a hentai site and have been to a U.S. Military recruiting office to enlist in the military this summer.
Still on my last year of school, then off I go to Uni(Hopefully I get accepted), too lazy to learn PHP even tho I'd love to get into back-end, for now I'll just be doing shitty front-end work and perhaps expanding my javacsript knowledge which is fairly minimal.
Started a new futsal team with a couple of mates which is starting next week, gotta get fit again, been sitting at home all these days just eating ice-cream and a shit load of other junk.

In the past year I've given up gaming entirely. I now work full time in an auto garage working as a mechanic and I take night classes to get completey certified and Ive been saving money to soon open my own shop. I already have a somewhat decentish customer base that would follow me to my own shop.
I've been single for a few years so no problems there haha. Working on getting my own shop is more important to me right now than having a girlfriend. I'm soon going to have my dream job. So its been a pretty good year so far.
