    by consuming large quantities of anti depressants for a couple of weeks, having withdrawal symptoms for a couple of days and then being fine for the foreseeable future
    never talk to me or my wife's son ever again

    Everytime I go through a traumatic experience or become depressed I feel just like you; no interest in doing anything and just generally bored with life. You should start working on ways to better yourself as a person. This is what I do and it works excellently. Simple things like getting yourself on a productive routine and trying to stick with it for a week will do you wonders. Such a routine would entail tasks like making yourself get up at a certain time, hoppin right into the shower, eatin breakfast right after you get dressed, and going about your day as best as you can without letting negative thoughts control your actions.

    You could also start working out and eating better. You will feel so much better due to improved health and also feel a strong increase in self confidence once you start seein some benefit from the gym. Even a little exercise in the morning (20-30 pushups) will kick start your day just right.

    I wish ya the best man. We all have our slumps in life. Some of us just find ways to deal with it better than others and stay on a productive path. Get yourself on that productive path man you'll be good.

    Just remember, that death is not easily dealt with; you can't just kill yourself and later decide, "Well, I'm not depressed anymore, I'd like to stop being dead", because, oops; you're still dead.

    The best thing to do is to talk to someone in such a way that helps you understand what's wrong, rather than help them.

    I'm now walking at a psychiatrist, because of the thinks i've dealt with in my life...

    Try to go to the general practitioner and talk about it, maybe they can help you or tell you more.

    Hey man, I suffer from anxiety and depression. I wish I could say something happy and uplifting but I really can't.. Not a day goes by that I don't think about just killing myself then and there. The only reason I've not's cause my mom already lost my dad and losing me would kill her.

    I wish I could be a bit more helpful or insightful or any of that other bullshit but it's never helped me. All I'll say is that you're definitely not alone.
