I started out in RSPSs just to simply play them, I never would have imagined where I am today back then. I always knew I wanted to do something with electronics or video games, but I was clueless as to what I wanted to do. After a few months of playing, I figured out how to start my own and so I did. I started playing with the code and the easy to change variables, reading up on tutorials, and asking for help when I needed it and just from that, I'm able to pass a college level CS course with minimal study time. I couldn't be happier with what I'm majoring in (Software Engineering) and I don't think it's something I would have found if RSPS have never played a part in it. Does anyone else have similar stories such as this?

I plan on going to college for computer programming because of my 5 years in RSPS.

Do you want to just be a simple CS major or focus in on something more direct in CS?

I have a pretty similar story i had playing different rsps's for years then found one i stayed at for months; and the owner started teaching one of the players how to program and thats what sparked my interest as soon as i heard that i went and downloaded a source and client and started but had no idea what to do.

But after 2 - 3 years of RSPS programming and i've got a collage interview tomorrow for Interactive media & games course so thats what RSPS has made me do as i want to run my own games studio when i am older

    Yes, lol...

I actually was wanting to get into architecture when I was in High School. I even took a simple class and It was quite fun. Then after doing private servers I really started to find an interest in programming, but software seemed horribly boring to me. Eventually actually this year. I started finding an interest in Game Development. So recently I've begun working on that.

It actually makes perfect sense since Game Development is like the Programming version of Architecture.
