    Is it possible to computer ban? whether its from a forum or a server?

    Heard it was wanted to know if it was possible and how its done.

    you can mac ban, that bans their routers mac address. meaning even if they change their ip it still has the same mac address
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Let me clarify what they said above..

    MAC ban only works locally, so once your out of the LAN it wont work. This kind of ban is usually done by the switch in a process called MAC address filtering.
    IP Range ban - for class A ip addresses that could mean banning 16 million people along with whoever your trying to ban. This kind of ban is kept in the hosts.deny file or your .htaccess file.
    IP Ban - same as above but just for your specific ip.
    Account Ban - Sets your mysql privalleges to 0, which means you have no permission to access any content on the site. This kind of ban is usually kept in the cookies and mysql database.
    Email ban - forbids that email for any new signups. Kept in mysql database.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    I know what ip range and ip ban along with account and email ban is.
