Bad habits? So make a better suggestion to actually 'speed' it up rather pulling this bs here. I'm tired of ppl pulling my strings when they don't put out shit themselves to help anyone. Is this why you pay for devs?

And to be fair, I pulled this from stackoverflow. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5651538/speedup-intellij-idea

Increasing max memory on Intellij obviously isn't a bad habit, telling people to do this on their VPS running IntelliJ *is*

well that's something I didn't know, theres no need for Abnant to backslash how I do and say things, I try to be better here for people to be toxic.

I try to help others, as moderators previously say, "would you mind posting the fix when done"

My objective is to help better people, I've been around RSPS for a long time and I know a few tricks.................... I just wish people were better here. RSPS has changed so much since 2012 (since I really last worked on it) so my understanding is different from others but if I can help someone else in the end of the day - I will

You were literally told in one of the first responses on this thread which you completely neglected and went into pitbull defense mode (as always). That’s why I even bothered laughing at you in the first place.

If you really wanna help them you shouldn’t be recommending development on the VPS. And setting up github takes 1-2 min

I wasn’t recommending developing on vps, it’s for when you run the server to launch it’ll take forever. back in my day, we hosted servers on vps with ide. Is this no longer?????????

Ya if git takes 1-2 mins then why haven’t you put out a tut for it? It’d be helpful

I mean for newcomers this could be handy, as I’ve never used it on IntelliJ

And I’m sure hundreds haven’t either...

I just want to comment as a response to the people who say developing on a VPS is bad...

Developing on a virtual environment is extremely common in the real world! A lot of people use Citrix to manage that, hyper-v etc. All my development in environments at my last 2 work places where all done in VM's, you'd simply spin up a dev machine and start coding. The same for the testing environments.
And for the other people, you should be using headless windows servers if you're hosting your servers. It gives you all the features you need minus the UI and is cheaper! If you're getting a Windows server with a GUI, don't just get it so you can double click a run.bat and transfer your files across using Mediafire (or whatever). OP is very acceptable.

Do not flame the OP for providing a very relevant solution to a real world problem. (OP: the settings need to be tailored properly as they're wrong for a "2GB" VPS)
