I can't decide are there actually any developers here developing with a mac?

Im extremely curious my father in-law owns a mac and said he loves it n wouldn't ever touch a windows computer again, which made me curious to know if they're any good to use for programming compared to a windows computer.

Im looking at spending around $2,000

Please give me your opinions! much appreciated

I own a mac myself, and i personally like my windows desktop a lot better. But having a mac has defiantly made me more focused on actual work(school, programming, etc.) rather than games because my mac cannot download all those good mmorpg, fps games the way my Windows did.

Personally can't stand Macs. The OS, the design, everything is just too... impracticable for my liking.
A Windows PC is bulky and heavy, but works. Perfectly.

I'm using my Imac to program, using Os x to program is just shit, you can still install a linux in dual boot and it's should be perfect. (I installed Ubuntu, it's decent I advice it)

Windows are always best for gaming, so I'd assume the same for programming, Mac are more designed for work/productivity, like school/university work I guess. Macs do have their pros like they get less viruses (none at all really) but most games are not made to work on Mac, many programs also don't work on Mac; they either don't work at all or they do but certain things don't work, so not as functional.

Have not touched my windows PC since purchasing a macbook; mind you, it's completely up to personal preference and what your intent is, when using it. I predominantly study and program - in both situations, i find my macbook to be more practical.
