Black theme & customization for OSX Leopard 10.5+
Since there's not too many themes and not enough customization apps, it's hard to get a nice dark theme that manages to look nice. I'll explain how I got mine to look like the screenshot below (click it to enlarge).

What will we be doing?
- Downloading and installing Aqua Extreme, a black desktop environment.
- Downloading and installing iStat menus, which allows text color changes.
- Downloading and installing Candybar, an icon replacement application.
Step 1. Download Aqua Extreme 3
- You can find it here [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (it's free)
- If you have an older version of OSX, download the older version from here [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Step 2. Extract the Zip file.
- Double click the archive to extract the contents.
Step 3. Execute the DMG file inside of the folder.
Step 4. Log out or restart your computer.
- When changing system themes, the changes won't take effect until you restart the desktop environment.
- When you log back in, you should see everything has changed.
Step 5. Repair your clock and actionbar buttons.
- Because the theme only changes the actionbar's color, and not the icons, you won't be able to see the items located on the top right of the screen.
- There's multiple programs that let you change the color of these items, the most popular is iStat menus.
- You can download iStat menus from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- After downloading and installing iStat menus, change the text color of the clock, battery, etc.. to white
Step 6. Remove unwanted actionbar buttons. (They'll look awful in black.)
- To remove the items such as Bootcamp, Bluetooth, and Spotlight hold down the command key and right click.
- Once clicked, drag it off of the actionbar and it will disappear.
Step 7. Download and install Candybar.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- Candybar is another application that will let you customize your icons
- You can use custom images, icon files, etc. You can even replace all of the icons on your bottom bar.
- To download Candybar, get it from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- To install Candybar, execute the DMG. Changing images is as easy as dragging and dropping.
- As with Aqua, you will need to restart or log off before the changes take effect.
- You can find lots of imagepacks at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
After that, get yourself a nice wallpaper and you'll have a nice clean black theme.
