After comparing my temps via other sources, I felt delidding would be a last resort to achieving lower temps, aside from:
    • A bigger case with more clearance for better airflow.
    • Better thermal paste application on the IHS
    • More advanced custom water cooling

I decided to delid, considering I already had an H100i and decent thermal application. I gather info from several YT videos about delidding and ended up purchasing CoolLaboratory Liquid Metal (around 13 USD) and borrowed a razor blade from my neighbor.

Moral of the story: I cut my finger for 5 degrees off.

As a result, I don't really advise anyone to go as far as detaching the IHS from the PCB and risking completely destroying the CPU.

I was lucky enough to even get the machine started because I scrapped off some of the PCB when using the razor blade.
Also, some thermal paste remover leaked onto the pins on the bottom of the PCB.

Finally, for those who may actually want to delid, I'd purchase the Rocket88 kit to make the process smoother. Using a razor blade to detach the IHS is the riskiest part.
I'm pretty sure I would've knocked an extra 5 degrees off if I wasn't so hasty. All in all, all CPUs perform differently.

Delidding is advertised as dangerous and pointless anyway, dont know why you would want to do that.
Improvement is improvedment anyway i guess.
Gj but you're lucky you didn't destroy it

It's a drastic solution tbh, but for those who do it correctly, it actually does help tons.

It's removing the IHS from the PCB.
The CPU is basically those two parts. The IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) is the top part that spreads the heat and the PCB is a small die where the "processing" happens. That's all i know though lol.

UPDATE: After fiddling with Ai Suite 3, I was able to achieve better idle and load temps
I can confirm my temps dropped a good 10 degrees

I didn't super glue my IHS to the PCB so O'll try again and apply the liquid metal paste better to see if I can get more even temps.
    Posting results soon!
