Question; How are you going to partition the HDD and SDD?

Also, this build could always be better if you have a bigger budget an i7 wouldn't be bad.

If you are doing more gaming then Intel if you are doing more streaming, editing etc then AMD has always been my favorite.


Here is what I throw in my staff workstations, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] the highend cpu with the 4 cores really helps out with having multiple SSH terminals running tasks at once. I might make it a dual soon this december as the new staff come on board.

Lots of people been telling me to get an i7.
Aswell with your question my friend is going to be building up the PC I've never done it personally.

It depends on what games you are going to be playing and streaming.

I don't think that is the greatest processor for rendering. You may want to not get an SSD and put that money towards an i7/higher grade processor, but that is just my opinion.

Not sure why you need a decent CPU to run multiple SSH terminals... all the computation is happening on the remote server, not your own machine.

Clock speed does not tell the whole story (not that I'm disputing the fact that Intel's processors are faster) - there are many other factors. Modern CPUs are very complicated - e.g. superscalar CPUs can execute multiple instructions simultaneously (and this is all within a single core btw) and out of order. Pipelining a CPU also improves the instruction throughput, but at the cost of latency, and the frequency at which pipeline stalls occur can vary too.
