Anyone knows the issue when you got attacked by someone, I'm not sure if it's DDOS or BOTNET but when I reported it to the hosting company, they said there was no track of any DDOS. I know it's not DDOS because when I accessed the VPS via VNC, the VPS is still there, the applications weren't closed. But, the internet connection was disabled. It's like, the driver was fried up. Restarting the VPS will fix the problem but the attacker won't just stop. Anyone knows something about this? Btw, the attacker claims that he's using 2TB Botnet or whatsoever, lol.

Lmao 2TB botnet my ass that is a big fat lie. ddos and botnet is the same a botnet has a function of ddosing. Maybe it is a error in their firewall, settings idk.
Depends...
The host that you use to connect to the VPS could be different than the public host that the VPS is using.
There is a chance that the attacker is hitting the public IP off, but not the remote host IP.
Depending on how the person is hitting the IP, there are multiple ways to stop this.
I doubt the person would use a 2TB attack because that's even stronger than almost any botnet to date.
My suggestion is to use a network analyzer and just monitor what happens during the disruption.
Also, make sure you don't have any random ports that are just wide open.
Hello,
We'd like to provide a little insight on this post.
Typically, when we receive an attack we notice performance changes instantly as well we have scripts that notify us of such and an automated e-mail will inform the client.
We can confirm several things regarding the occurrence:
1. The attack was indeed not 2TB, the attack was a massive attack that exceeded our protection ranges (over 20 gbps)
2. Our team did not believe this to be an attack due to the nature of restarting the machine would resolve it, but we later on confirmed it an attack by analyzing TCP dumps.
This has since then been resolved.
