    Hello!
    have someone else tried Java sun's "operating system" OpenSolaris?
    i ordered a free CD and installed.... and OMGZOR it was a Ubuntu version with JDK and thing in it...
    Seriously? I thought it was gonna be java based.... just another linux version.

    When i ordered i reed the information "Java SUN operating system" for developers.... GOD

    It's ok, abit like open vmware, I personally can't stand PC anything, so yeah I am always trying different nix distro's.

    well just that i got really disappointed since its made by SUN i thought it was gonna be in java and not a ubuntu version with some extra features

    well they did have a complete java OS in like the 1990's but they canceled it because they said "It was to unstable and was slower compared to the other OS's"

    It would of been nice if they kept working on it because then we would have a OS optimized to run java programs like rsps and stuff.

    Well nowadays we cant choose much between OS's, Windows is the leading part which all games work on etc, Apple taking over-price for their stuff and like no games work on it.. its like Linux but you have to pay for it.

    Linux could be good if all who making new, like ubuntu, Debian etc, go to one and work together

    Why have a complete OS when we have HotSpot?

    there is a complete java os that was out last year the only thing that wasnt java was the asm boot sequence
