I'm currently trying to decide whether or not I should get a macbook, or a windows laptop.

    Some information:
I do most of my development on my gaming desktop so gaming isn't a priority.
I intend to use it for on the go needs such as developing when I go other places or watching movies on and what not.
I own an iphone 6 so I figured maybe I should lean towards the macbook but itunes works either way.
I don't want to spend more then around $600, I'm not objective to getting something used.

    Any opinions would help.

Well then you'll have to go with Windows.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money I wouldn't suggest buying a macbook

You could easily get a 2011-2012 macbook pro for around $600 so thats what I was taking into consideration.

You also can get a crashed car for $600 but you wouldn't buy that or would you?

Your analogy is kind off of. Anything 2012/2013+ MBP is good. I would go for that as it performs better then most Windows laptops anyways to this day.

What sort of logic that? I could easily get a running beater for $500.

I wouldn't invest in a Macbook personally, but it comes down to preference at the end of the day. Id personally spend around $500 for a decent PC then get a low-end Macbook

I'm not much of a pc gamer and I have my desktop if I do decide to do some pc gaming. Its more or less for programming and general enjoyment. With os x el capitan coming out in the Fall I figured it would be worth getting a macbook.
