I originally posted this in the Market forum but that area seems dead. Here's my post..

I'm looking at upgrading and grabbing a new computer, preferably a gaming one.

I'm looking to spend a maximum of about £800, but obviously cheaper the better. I currently have an old PC:
    • Acer Aspire M5630

    • 4GB Ram
    • nVidia GeForce 8400GS
    • Quad Core @ 2.40GHz
    • 500GB HDD.

So the new PC should be better than that please
I'd prefer something with these specs:
    • 6+ RAM
    • Windows 7

Also preferably available in the UK so I'm not paying daft prices for shipping. I'm asking on here as I know there are a lot of people who know their stuff about computers!

    Thank you

I'm not a techy with hardware, so if you're going to recommend a self-build then I'm gonna need a lot of help haha

Build your own. Mine costed around $600 and so far it works smooth on all the new games.

    Ought to check out /r/buildapc

Once you get a nice build, post it here or pm me and I'll help you critique it. It's hella fun to build your own computer.

You could take a look at this: http://www.rune-server.org/computing...453-build.html it would cost about 900$, but you can replace some pieces to get cheaper.

Revisiting this thread as I've noticed what looks like a decent deal on Amazon.

Is this computer any good like?

VIBOX Precision 6 **** DEAL **** - Home, Office, Family, Gaming PC, Multimedia, Desktop, PC, Computer, - PLUS X2 FREE GAMES! ( Overclocked 4.0GHz AMD FX 4100 Quad Core Bulldozer Processor, 2GB ATI Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card, Big 2TB HDD Hard Drive,

It's currently £379, down from £718.. Reckon it's any good?

You can build your own to save money and earn experience. Try Newegg Canada - Computer Products, Laptops, Electronics, HDTVs, Digital Cameras, Cellphones and More!, plus never buy AlienWare.
