Can anyone help me before I stamp on my PC?
Was working fine then few mornings after I gave my mum my ssd I thought my hdd packed up. It keeps freezing on 'starting Windows' the logo doesn't finish spinning on win7. Funny thing is, it does the same on win7 installation disc with no hdd plugged in. Before I deleted everything I tried booting in safe mode and it got stuck on loading CLASSPNP.sys
The installation disc freezes at the exact same point too.
Tried Windows 10 and that just gets stuck on the logo with no spinning icon.
I've tried changing Sata ports to raid(with raid setup) ahci and ide.
What the hell could be the issue? I've reset bios too. Tried different ram, each bit of ram singually too..
run memtest
Memtest found no issues
Completely wipe HDD after removing your precious files
Install bios
Install os
Maybe you're out of space on your HDD? And/or your pc isn't compatible. If not, let it sit out over night and see if its just a delayed start up.
I always freeze on CLASSPNP.SYS whenever I boot any machine in safemode. Just give it like 20 minutes lol. It will work itself out.
Best to backup all your data if you haven't already.
Did you try a Windows repair or something from the installation disc? I think there is a separate menu for that in Win 7 installation disc.
I suggest you borrow a HDD from someone you know to see if the issue is in there
If so, just purchase a new one, and install that one, then use the old one (see if that one works then, after it's not the main HDD) to get your important files back
