    This is my first solo build and im fairly new to this, please poke holes in my build and tell me where im going wrong. Im on a pretty strict budget so may be buying some parts second hand and finding the cheapest deals if buying new. Looking for it to be a gaming rig but also be used for university work. Anyway please give me some feedback

    Oh i will be overclocking too

    I would go for 2 modules of ram, which allows simultaneous access to memory, reducing latency.
    I would also go for ''MSI Radeon R9 270X GAMING 4G'', the extra 2GB will future-proof your build
    Also go for a 550 watt PSU, AMD eats energy D;
    Pretty good build

    Power supply can be an 80+ Gold Efficient 650W EVGA PSU, the CPU can be upgraded to 8350 instead. The RAM can be changed to a 2133MHz G.Skill Ripjaw X Series (8GB) pair of sticks. The graphics card can be upgraded to a Gigabyte windforce r9 270x REV 3.

    ^ Those are just some better upgrades in my opinion, but the powersupply really needs to be at least 550-600 watts because I'm sure the entire build will require 400 watts.

    Yeah i realised after that i'd need to upgrade the PSU, i picked one module of ram thinking that i may buy more in future, then realised i have 3 more slots and who really needs 32 gigs of ram

    I'm guessing you're not in america since you use the pounds currency symbol, so I'll see what I can find on the UK pcpartpicker

    BAM: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2jx7gs

    ^ You don't need a liquid cooler, but I definitely suggest it when you have the extra money. Also, I would recommend upgrading to at least 1866GHz+ RAM because the speed of RAM can make a big difference.

    Looks really good What made you go for the fx-6300 over the 8350? Also i will most likely get a small ssd over a hdd because i have a 500gb hdd somewhere (hopefully) if not then ill get one at a later date.

    Made a few updates, went like £100 overbudget but just found out my new internet provider are kindly giving me a £75 amazon card for switching to them so yea

    Whatcha think?

    Changed case because it was similair pricing and looked nice, also changed motherboard because it had a front usb 3.0 header, although i dont really know much about motherboards and dont know if that was a good decision, going to look at some reviews. Also upgraded to faster ram like you recommended and upgraded to the 8350 as i checked benchmarks and the overclocking potential looks a lot better for only an extra £30 or so

    Don't get a kingston V300, the V300 was changed to be EXTREMELY slower than a regular SSD, so I'd find a better SSD. Other than that, everything looks great. I've got the FX-8350 in my current build, and it's amazing! I'm sure you'll love what you just put together

    I recommend going for a full case, I just recently built my own computer with the same exact case, and It was hell fitting all the wires etc.. nicely.
