wheres ur graphics card and sound card?
|
For Christmas, I will be putting together a new desktop. I feel the current computers in my house (mainly OEM machines), are quite out of date and don't cope with new games very well.
Taking into consideration the following:
- I plan to play graphically-intensive games at high detail and high resolutions, such as Battlefield 3 and Crysis, with good performance. As well as less demanding games like Minecraft.
- My budget is currently around 1.5k. I may spend a little more if I have to.
- I am using PCCaseGear. NewEgg isn't an option for Australia unfortunately.
Here is the current build config:
Feedback appreciated.
wheres ur graphics card and sound card?
well looks good 2 me but whats gamin without the feelin of sound?
I'd suggest this cooler Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler (NH-D14) - PCPartPicker
Also, try and find a better site. Those prices are a bit high. What's the RAM frequency? Get a TB drive for that price too.
IIRC the mobo's like $90 elsewhere.
Thanks. I was considering getting that CPU cooler, but it was a bit high in price. I'll consider it again.
I won't be needing a terabyte-sized drive. I keep some stuff (backups, very old files, etc.) on a 2TB external drive. The RAM is clocked at 1600MHz.
I'm aware it's expensive, but I live in Australia (the prices are like Canada and NZ). I checked PCPartPicker and the prices are pretty much the same.
Replaced the Antec case with a Coolermaster one. And relaced the cooler.
that psu is nice but...after buying it i'd much rather have a modular power supply. I also did pay $100 so thats a rip-off lol.
I haven't heard many good things about Intel SSDs.
I see that you are buying one of the best air coolers on the market, however I have heard very bad things about Ivy Bridge overclocking because of the new IHS (the silver top on the processor) is not mounted with the same method (solder.) Overclocking with this processor takes less power but it also generates way more heat than a i5-2500k. If I was going to spend $80 on a cooler, I would rather just get an i7-2600k and just deal with the stock cooler until I had the money to buy a better cooler OR I would just buy an i5-2500k and get better clocks.
