While it is true that the prices may seem a bit... outrageous for a website that just recently launched, we would prefer to keep a certain price point rather than start at an absurdly low level and slowly increase as we grow in popularity. We understand that not everyone is going to purchase everything we have to offer. However, keep in mind that this is mainly a RSPS Community. That being said, our goal isn't to make thousands of dollars every day. Our goal is to create an outstanding community that constantly changes. Not to mention that the members can gain access to Pro and Pro+ membership, premium toplist slots and more by promoting the website through, e.g. the Referral System.

Frankly, I don't understand where this hostile attitude is coming from. What is the reasoning behind all your negativity? Yes, we do offer members to purchase membership and advertisement slots but that is to make sure we don't go negative. I believe that in the same way, a lot of Runescape Private Servers start out because they want to offer the public something new. Same goes for many others games. Just because a website, game or product isn't 100% free to use, doesn't mean that the only goal they have is to make mad money.

It's not "absurdly low" when the site literally has no apparent traffic. Currently it's just "ridiculous and absurdly high" It has no one, so why not lower the prices in order to make it more appealing to actually purchase - thus increasing your traffic a little? Personally I wouldn't even consider and/or return to the site after seeing how pathetic the prices are with the amount of people you've got there. And I'm definitely not, and I'm sure most server owners aren't going to spend time getting referrals to avoid having to spend a ridiculous amount for like... zero traffic? There's nothing to advertise so why would we spend our time doing it, especially when there's no real gain for us in it?

No, we did not. Our original plan was to just offer Pro membership as a permanent rank for 10$ alongside no ad slots. However, the more ideas we came up with, the more expenses were to be made. Finally, we decided that isn't possible to have an operational website with multiple developers if we were to gain no profit to make up for losses.

I think that you should take a step back and look at your marketing plan. In order to sell any slots (ads or memberships) you must first have a reliable amount of traffic. Without traffic, there is no value to anyone purchasing any such slots for any amount of money.

I have never run a toplist site, but I assume the way you attract attention is by first doing self promotion by offering servers free trials or something similar until you have gathered enough attention. SEO is a big deal with sites like this.
When I google "RSPS Toplist" Your site does not appear on any of the first 10 pages of results from google. I think that this should be a major focal point for you to work on fixing.

You seem to have a semi-large team working on this project, with a lot of talent and experience included.

I think that at this time, you shouldn't be focused earning any money, rather growing your audience.

I wish you the best of luck, but I personally would not invest a penny into the site at this point. (not saying I wouldn't sometime in the future)

We've only recently launched. We haven't done anything for marketing apart from this thread. We decided that rather than being offline for a full year and then just going all-or-nothing with marketing, we would take it slow. We actually aren't planning on getting even more than 30 members today. Don't worry about it though, we have it all planned out.
