Developer for Hire - Services - Content - Bugs - Interfaces - Considerate Prices

I see a lot of good feedback here, so I'm a bit confused as to why my experience with Dexter was quite bad. I hired him to do 6 interfaces for me at the price he requested and paid a 50% deposit. He estimated it would take about 5 days for him to complete the entire job. I sent him the sprites and the information he needed to complete the first 2 interfaces. They weren't complicated by any means. At that point he went sort of AWOL and wasn't responding much for days and didn't offer any sort of updates. Come day 6 he still hadn't given me one interface or even a preview. I was irritated. I finally said, "Hey man, if you haven't even started on em I just want a refund" ... he responded a day later by sending me one that was sub-par. At that point I was already looking elsewhere because at the rate he was going.. who can wait 2 months for 6 interfaces? I let him know I was still interested in a refund. He responded a day or so later with one more sub-par interface and the preview of a pre-made interface. Like.. what. XD I had already found another developer. I continued to have to threaten with disputes and actually did start one on Paypal. The guy responded and accepted my Paypal claim right before I submitted my report on R-S. Really not sure why I was treated this way, but figured I'd offer my honest feedback.

Contacted them for work to be done and was originally quoted it "shouldn't take long" for 4 interfaces (that he already had written) and full implementation with bug fixes as needed. We're now going on 45 days and Dex was just able to implement the code, but its littered with bugs.

I know something in their personal life has affected their ability to work on this, but instead of being unresponsive and asking for more time when you do respond, just tell me you won't be able to complete the work. They wasted over a month of my time and theirs.

Really disappointed, knowing this guy is super talented just doesn't follow through with what he says.

I would like to update that within 48 hours of posting this (and a initiating a dispute on PayPal) Dex has remediated the all of the bugs that were introduced with the content he provided and has offered a free service for the large amount of time it took for the services to be completed. I'd be interested in working with Dex again if he can get his time management back under control as the code/bug fixes seem to be very quality.

It really sucks to see how long Dex has been around and what he is capable of & for him to make poor choices when it comes to handling his services. Its also nice to hear with proper motivation he stays true to his word and provides quality end product.
