I'm so fucking done working on client-side things. I'm a professional developer and can code the absolute shit out of server-side code. I was never taught anything relatively close to RSPS client-side stuff and cache indexing and whatnot, so I've been getting very frustrated lately.

I've recently coded in elite treasure trails to my already-custom treasure trails I added a while back. With this, I wanted to add a bunch of OSRS items as rewards for the elite clue scrolls, but I've reach ends meet on this stuff.

Person I'm looking for should have:
    • Extensive knowledge of cache, cache packing, indexing, etc
    • Access to some OSRS assets I may not have (models, animations, maps, etc.)
    • Ability to add/configure proper inventory model zoom/rotations and character offsets without wanting to kill yourself
    • Maybe be able to finish the work I've done on adding particles
    • Socket knowledge cuz my shitty client kicks players out if another window takes up too much CPU usage.

I'd either want you to use these skills to do all the work for me or show me how to use them properly so I understand what I'm doing.

I've been working off the "index1" folder repacking thing forever now, but I have so many items I want to add and have added in the past, that the client is just getting slow to start. I feel like I have a pretty solid game with what I've been able to code into the source, but I don't want things to fall apart just because I'm getting tired of doing client-side work.

Add me on discord if interested and we'll chat: Justin:4799

Price negotiable or would gladly work with you on writing custom server-sided code.

Seems to me like a 'professional developer' would know Java as a whole, regardless.

I don't think that hard coding too many items would cause your client to lag on start up. That sounds like another issue entirely, but good luck finding someone

Pretty sure it uses cpu if you have loads of them.

Maybe if you have an unreasonable amount sure, but I doubt hes hard coded enough items for that to cause the client to take forever to load up. Ruthless has like 500 probably and if his client is going slower than ruthless than it's probably something else entirely. If hes using a ruse client it's most likely rune-unity which has a ton of memory leaks unless he fixed them. Not to mention half of the rune-unity client load sprites from folders in the cache which would increase the load time even more.

All the cache is loaded from the cache files, not in any folders. The client doesn't currently take a long time to load up, I can just tell a difference after I added another 75 models and I want to change it now before it gets too bad.

Seems like you're unaware that there are numerous things Java developers can do. In Java, I mainly do swing, client apps, and Java Servlet work, but I'm also full-stack so I can work with a multitude of languages and frameworks. I have yet to learn everything about every single language I've ever touched.

Are you pre-loading the models or are they cache packed?

Old models are cache packed, new ones are being pre-loaded because I don't know how to repack them.

Make a folder called index1 in your cache directory and place the models in there, then search Client.java for repackCache and uncomment the line that has (1) at the end. The next time you start the client the models are packed into the cache. Then you would just re-upload the cache assuming your cache downloader bases it off the last modified date for main_file_cache.dat or whatever it's called

    index1 - models
    index2 - animations
    index3 - sounds
    index4 - maps
